What is Ambassador Wales?
Ambassador Wales Conference Programme is a country wide network of influential private individuals from fields such as academia, medical and business who, whilst leading in their own professional field, dedicate personal time, energy and enthusiasm to champion Wales as a meeting and events destination.
Unapologetically ambitious for Wales and all that it can offer, our Ambassadors actively seek out opportunities for Wales to identify, approach, pitch and bid for business event opportunities, globally.
Heledd Williams, Head of Business Events, Meet In WalesThe Ambassador Wales Conference Programme has taken the collective expertise of ambassador-led marketing channels and applied them to a country-wide scheme. Traditional ambassador programmes are more often led at city level, we were mindful of schemes running in parallel. However, our Working Group gathered representatives from across the meetings and events community, CVBs, venues, universities, and other networks, making among the first national programmes. Ambassador Wales doesn’t compete with city schemes, it amplifies them.”

Ambassadors are recognised for their work
Wales Ambassadors are formally recognised for the work that they do and become part of a network of individuals who share a single and common purpose. Ambassadors are asked to talk about the work that they do and provide further support and outreach to other bidders in other sectors and often continue in an advisory role once their own business event has been successfully delivered.
What support is there for Ambassadors?
Ambassador Conference Programme Wales is led by the Meet In Wales team at Event Wales, supporting with research and leads but also with the practical help needed to turn an opportunity into a reality. They are meeting and event experts and will become part of your extended team as you go forward with your bid.
How to get involved
If you are a leader in a trade or specialist association or professional society. If you work for a not-for-profit or charitable concern. If you lead a commercial business or specific industry group. Or if you work in an academic setting alongside international colleagues, we would like to hear from you.
